808s & Heartbreak

The artwork for Kanye's new LP 808s & Heartbreak is pretty dope; done by Vanessa Beecroft. Not going to lie. Kanye has good taste in fashion/art and the artwork for the last 2 LPs of his have impressed me.

From what I've heard of the actual album it's a love/hate though process. The reminiscence to cheesy 90's R&B is cool in concept, but coming Kanye, is kind of lame. He's not the most creative and/or the most suitable for the genre.

CONTRAMAG

CONTRAMAG is an online magazine based in the fun loving city of Toronto. On a bi-monthly basis CONTRA provides internet literate people with a interesting perspective on city life and an amalgamation of cultures. The photography and stories are excellent, thanks to many of the people that contribute; including Trung Hoang (the founder), Mila Victoria, and my good friend Luis Mora. Not to mention I'm also contributing to the December 08 issue! HELLA STOKED!

I was in Hamilton tonight for the bi-monthly art crawl they have going on. Saw lots of great pieces including some great woodblock prints at the Print Shop. Got to speak to the artists, enjoy the lovely weather & free munchies. Lots of fun!

While I stopped in Mixed Media to grab a Munny and some typical art supplies I saw this sexy little piece of nostalgia:



The Lomography Diana+, based off a cheap 60's (nearly all plastic) camera that is responsible for those worn out looking photos in your family's scrapbook.



I can't wait to get some film and test this sucker out!
